Thats scary! Dealer techs never fail to amuse me.I went in about a yr ago and needed a DRB to check command RP vs. actual RP.They told me it couldn't do that.Well after a couple minutes arguing and convencing them to just give it a try the tech was shocked to learn it could do that.Took him for a ride and had him reading off what was showing at different speeds and when we got back he asked me if the readings were right Any how,it just confirmed I needed to look elsewhere.I paid them for 1/2 hr shop labor and went on my way. This same tech had to do a complete engine swap on my friends 05 that had thrown a rod out the side of the block.6 weeks later he got it back and we spent a day getting the wiring harnesses rerouted like they were from the factory, had to call and request all the missing bolts, nuts etc.. that hadn't been reinstalled.2 weeks later the harmonic balancer fell off. What a nightmare!

So I got the truck back yesterday evening. The mechanic said that he found a P0113 "IAT Sensor Voltage Too High" code. He cleared the code and that's it. I asked where the code came from and he said it was a soft code. I checked the codes numerous times and that never came up. I even cleared the codes just to be safe. He said he didn't do anything other than plug into the OBD port.

I've had this code previously when I had a problem with the Outlook Monitor. I sent the monitor out to be repaired and haven't had a problem since. I think the last time it came up I got a CEL. I've still got the Outlook Monitor hooked up and I can't reproduce the code. I haven't had the truck surge yet but I haven't driven it far. I'm not sure I buy this fix because I had the Outlook completely disconnected, cleared the codes, and still had the surge problem.

He told me if that didn't fix it, the only other concern he could find was the frame mounted lift pump
