Rotella synthetic is even cheaper, the last time I bought it,a gallon was running about $17-18 per gallon.

TAS, I ahve been told the Amsoil filters go that long. One year or 25,000 miles. I would never do that but thats the info I can give you. If your looking into extended drains why not use a Fleetguard/Cummins and just change the filter every 5,000 or so and top it off?

Yep, they make that 25000 mile claim right on their filter box. I'd never go that long on a diesel w/ mods either. I run Amsoil and change the filter once between oil changes every 15000 miles.

The Cummins is known to be easy on oil,it really doesn't matter what you run within reason.
My 04 is picky with oil seems to like either the PB or the Delo seems to run differently on the Delvac and Rotella.

I started out using Rotella cause thats all I used on my 96 Cummins, Tried out the PB after reading on here about it then tried the Delvac cause of my Uncles recomendation went back to PB then was late and wanted to change my oil so good ole Walmart had the Delo for like $9 a gallon gave it a shot and wasnt dissapointed.....

You can get the premium blue classic CI in 5 gallon jugs. I've got a jug now I just have to figure out how to get it out cleanly?

The gallon jugs of CJ have a red background, if you want the CI you'll have to find a jug that has just a blue background on the label.

Buy a dispenser for it. They fit in place of the lid, they're fairly cheap & come with a pump & a length of hose. You can rest the pale on the bumper & cleanly pump oil into your engine. No funnel needed.
