Pre and post inj?

I was wondering if getting rid of the pre and post inj would yield better fuel mileage on the new common rail set ups?

I know they make comp boxes but is it possible to have a box to make these major changes in fuel control?

Just sitting here wondering again, better go walk the dog before I think too much and hurt myself.

This has been on my mind also. Is there a way to override the basic engine programming on the Dodge like the fords? Are there any rocket scientist's here?
