Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement

- the stuff in the white bottle. Is it a good anti-gel additive?

Yes, at least as good as most. However, if you have not used an additive before they have a tendency to break junk free and clog/wax your filter.

I use it all the time. Used to buy it @ Walmart then found a truck stop in OH which was selling it pretty cheap. Now the price is up everywhere. If you've never used it before you wouldn't notice that it just jumped in price from $12.99/gal to $16.99/gal.
I never get fuel without putting it in. Truck is run in very different climates & expecially with the new ULSD fuel.

I think you want to use the RED bottle, not the white one.
The red bottle is Powerservice Diesel 911 and will not let the fuel gel.

If your worried about gelling, you'll want the red bottle.

The red Powerservice is only for if your fuel has gelled and not for regular use. Use the white bottle if you want to. You can find this information on the Powerservice website and maybe the individual bottles.

The white bottle has the anti gel formula in it as well as higher cetane, lubrication, and injector cleaner. I believe the red bottle formula Diesel 911 is for when your truck won't start because the fuel actually gelled up and you need to "melt" the fuel to get going again. The white bottle is more preventitive for fuel gelling.

Well, on the back of the red 911 bottle i have sitting in front of me, at the end of the first and second paragraphs, it says , " ... Add power service diesel fuel supplement as directed to protect againist gelling. "

Why wait till you have a problem to use it ?
Its like a preventative maintance thing in the winter... at least here it was 3 degree's yesterday. I usually run some if im heading up north to the UP, just incase I fill up with some not so diesel, diesel.

It says for year round use also on the bottle.

Personally I have used a decent amount of the red bottle so far this winter, with no problems.

Because the red bottle is a solvent/alcohol and is very hard on pumps and injectors and should only be used for fixing a truck that has already gelled.

Only use the PS Red 911 when you have gelled fuel in the tank and filter as it has way to much alcohol in it to be use all of the time. The Alcohol in the 911 is very hard on you fule system and should only be used to melt gelled fuel and not for use in every tank.

Now I know.
-Thanks!

It seems like everyone in the upper pennisula runs that stuff in the winter.
Lucky I only ran 32oz of it, 16oz per each tankful.

So I dumped teh full bottle (32 oz. I think) & filled up. Should I do anything else to not 'abuse' my fuel system anymore. I intend on putting in a bottle of the white, as it has cleaner, lubricant, etc. Or is this not recommended with the bottle of red already in it?

Im using a mix of 16oz. PSD in white bottle and 8oz. MMO and it seems to be a great combo. Noticing a tad bit better fuel economy!! Just my .02 worth.
