power drain- hard start/no start... HELP!

Hey all!
I'm posting again. My wonderful 05 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Laramie 5.9 cummins has left me stranded AGAIN.
Truck has been running great (since the last break down a while ago).
Then, all of a sudden it started getting harder and harder to start. Dragging, not wanting to turn over.
Everything looked good. Cleaned terminals, posts, checked wires and ground. Eventually (about 2 weeks of slowly and barely starting) it wouldn't start. Will turn over, but no 'umph' and no start. I couldn't even jump it off.

Replaced both batteries last night. Made sure everything was clean, tight, etc.

Still didn't want to start. After trying it a few times, wholla! It cranked right up. Was able to run it, shut it off, crank right up. Even my pass. window that wouldn't roll up, rolled up! Drove it, all's good...
Till the next morning (@ 65 deg. this morning) barley would start, but it did. Now it wont... just turn over, no start...

I'm at a loss... I'm going to double check, but voltage from the alternator seems good... UGH. Please help. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm no mechanic, but I'm at least knowledgeable...
I already got robbed when I had to have my engine rebuilt due to a bad injector... Trying to eliminate as much as possible before taking it to the shop...

Thanks for any and all help!!!

Sara

Before you really spend for a new starter, check the contacts. If you search this site for starter contacts, you will find it is a easy and cheap job. The hardest part is getting the starter off the truck.

I didn't consider the starter! Guess b/c it turns over. It's finally running, but it takes a few (or more) times for it to start. Gauges are good, voltage fluctuates a little.
I'll check the contacts and let y'all know what I come up with. Thank you!
this truck has given me such a hard time! Engine blew a couple years ago, had that rebuilt n had to replace all 6 injectors, new a/c (had a problem similar to this and it ended up being the compressor locked up... List goes on & on... Truly thank y'all for any suggestions. You'd think I would know how to fix anything on these!!!
