Possible Injector Problem?

The past few days I've noticed a slight knocking sound coming from the engine dept. I thought it might be the valves but I decides to check for loose fuel lines coming from the rail. After checking injector fuel line #1 I noticed a harsh pulsating while the engine was running. None of the other injector lines pulse as hard as #1. I've checked for fuel in the oil and everything smells and looks fine. The #1 injector line feels like someone is tapping on it with a hammer. Is this normal??

Yes it is normal from what I understand. Mine pulses 10 times as hard as the rest and there have been many posts on here about it. Not syaing you don't have a problem, but I doubt it has anything to do with that pulsing line.

Thanks Ron... I looked all over the search option and found 9 million articles to injector issues and couldn't find one thing on the #1 injector line.. Im starting to belive the valves may need adjustment or worse a dropping seat. The noise sounds more like metal to metal and goes away under acceleration. The noise can only be heard with the radio off and the windows rolled up.. (not very load)

it sounds simple, but check th eclamps on your fuel lines. They take out alot of vibration, I thought my # 3 was bad but after feeling around it was a loose clamp. Maybe a cheap fix?

Thats the reason I checked the injector lines.. I read somewhere that the clamps could become loose and rattle. If I remember correctly it cost "someone" around $100.00 for the dealer to re tighten them. But I not mentioning any names

I had same symptoms. I had taken it to the dealer several times for ball joints and also asked them to check for a faulty injector. They stated they were all within spec. I took the truck in Monday for injector noise, they found a bad #1 injector and changed it out. The engine is a lot quieter, now I can hear another one starting to make noise.

It did make a difference with the new injector though.
