HEy! I just woke up this morning with my thinker ticken, and I wonder if there might be a peice of paper (like a rectangular sticker) put on a pipe or put on a cable or hose. Kinda would cause that sound like when you hold a piece of paper tight between your fingers and blow. Just a thought, when the sun comes up I'll take a look see.

That is the only thing so far that I have come up with. What would be different from when the engineers designed this and it is put on the market???? Why would the enginners need all the parts identified by stick on bar codes????

I saw this tread was running for a while, but I figured this had not been mentioned yet.

I found a part number sticker on a bar in the front. I tied a piece of wire around it, and drove it for a while, from the looks of it, all I hear now is the hum from the tires. I also checked for the weight on the power steering hose, it was there. In my book, vibration/hum problem seems to be alleviated.

The 2000 rpm or 65-70 mph vibe USED to affect my truck. Last Tuesday the dealer received the parts (shims?) that have been on national backorder. On Wednesday, after a visit with the dealer, a trip down I-40 revealed a very smooth Dodge Ram at 65-70. All other speeds up to 95 were smooth as well. The parts used to correct the vibe change the driveline angle. IIRC, they shim the carrier bearing in between the two driveshafts down.

i6DZUL, What TSB number did they use to satisfy the fix or who is the dealer so I can call to find out. Mine does not know about the problem and they do not know how to fix it.

Learjockey, I'll call the dealer tomorrow and find out. I saw the paperwork with the tsb # written on it, but I failed to get a copy. I'll post the # tomorrow evening. The dealer is at 336-996-4111 if you want to call. Ask for Randy B. in the serv. dept.

The poll does not allow for any difference between 2wd and 4wd. It may be interesting to see if there is a major differnce between the 2wd and 4wd's.

Let me know how it works out. I'm waiting on taking mine in until there is a better fix known.

FWIW, if you look on that alldata link you'll see another vib related TSB, something about a yoke dampener.
