Truck is at dealer for the code PO192. TRuck surged from dying to rediline a few times on the freeway then died, was able to get off the road and restart a few times and limped into the Dogde dealership on exit up the road. What is up with this code PO192-fuel rail prseeure sensor. What do I need to worry about? I hate having my truck at the dealer but there was no other choice as it was close and I felt unsafe driving a surging truck in traffic. Let me know.

Probably a bad lift pump. How many miles on the truck? Do you have any gauges?

74,000 miles on truck, no gages and have since removed the max mileage from the truck. Its at the dealer ^&$*###@, but it was my only choice as I could not drive any further in this situation. I believe it will be covered by the Cummins 100,000 warrenty though.

Sounds like your rail pressure sensor crapped out. Didn't happen to do an engine wash with your Quad box on it just before you had the trouble, did you? One thing to keep in mind if it's the RP sensor and it's on your dime, don't buy it from the Dodge dealer. When mine went out they wanted just a little over $700 for it. An International dealer here that sells Cummins parts wanted $360, and the same Bosch part from an injection shop was $108. It takes like 2 minutes to change it out.

Thanks, found one online for $190, will look more if that is what it is. I hate taking things to a dealer because I feel like they always try and get you. No, no engine wash, but has been raining pretty good here in Houston. finally

The price has gone up a bit since I last bought one, but this might save you a bit of money. Real good to deal with too.

Thanks for the input, I guess I will wait and see what the dealer says today. Any others out there with an idea.

Got it back from dealer this evening. Was the fuel rail pressure sensor ya'll had suggested. First they reflashed computer, code came back, ordered sensor, replaced sensor truck done. Covered by Cummins Warrenty so that was good. Thanks for the help.
