Pinging Sound ???
Pinging Sound ???
I can hear a Pinging or ringing sound when I come off the accelerator and begin to coast or maintain speed. It will go away when I accelerate or the truck is under a load. It sounds like it is coming from the engine compartment. It does not happen at idle only when driving down the road.
Any Ideas of what this sound might be?

If your injector tips get carboned up this is what I notice first. I did use Howe's Meaner Cleaner and it worked. Last couple of time I just hooked up the trailer and worked the truck hard. Works even better and faster than the Howe's.
Alright Guys,
Since this is a forum to help others I feel I must disclose my findings on my problem no matter how dumb I look.
I really thought the sound was coming from the engine compartment, it only pinged or ringed when deceleration occurred. Sometimes it was very light and you could barely hear it other times you could hear it over the radio.
After searching the truck with a fine tooth comb I finally traced it to under the passenger seat. Yup, it was the extension bars to change a flat with. They had come out of there little holders and were barely pinging each other at certain vibrations.
I really though it was a pinging in the engine compartment like a bearing or injector. Glad I was wrong.
Thanks for the comments and Help.
