PCM Location on 2006

I am looking for the PCM to tap into on a 2006. I have read that the earlier models had it behind the battery on the firewall. I cannot see any wiring there. I think I have found the ECM on the side of the engine block.

Can I find a diagram to locate pin 27 on the PCM once we figure out where it is?

I don't think the 06's have a PCM. Pretty sure they went away from the ECM/PCM configuration with the start of the 04.5. The ECM has done it all since them. Whatcha trying to install?

The Truspeed from Superlift is supposed to install on a wire somewhere.

On my Wrangler it took 20 minutes and I was running. Power, Ground and splice into the signal located on the Transfer Case speed sensor.

For 2005 Dodge's the instructions said to install on a Green Wire/Yellow Trace located on the ABS controller. I did that and got the ABS light/Parking Brake light and the Truspeed was not working. Called Superlift and they said the 06 should go on a Blue/Orange located on the PCM.

These things are made in Iceland. Some things could get lost in translation.

There are 2 Blue/Orange wires that I have found on the vehicle. They both can be seen at the ECM and at the harness where it connects at the firewall plug.

Might just be a simple acronym mistake on their part. I have lots of electronic gizmos and most of mine tap into my ECM and PCM and the instructions always seem to get the two mixed up all the time. I would probably assume they meant ECM. I would cross my fingers and tap the most likely Blue/Orange wire and see what happens. Worse case scenario is it will just not work again. Good luck.

I don't want to go off cowboy again though. I feel as if I dodged a bullet by being able to clear the lights by reconnecting the ABS wire. I feel leary about cutting ECM stuff.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to go cutting wires just to test a theory either. I was thinking maybe a gator clip or something….just something you could clamp on that barley breaks the wire insulation just to test it out.

OK, techs from various dealerships are conflicting on the module that is located on the driver's side of the block.

It is 50-50 saying that the PCM is the driver side and that the ECM is on the Passenger firewall. There is no module on the passenger. The other guys say the opposite.

AK, I am thinking that they are united now. One EPCM?

I wish I had an 06 manual....I would look this up for you and be done with it. My 03 manual is no help though as everything has changed. I'm surprised someone with an 06 manual hasn't chimed in yet.

Thanks. I called Brookdale Dodge in Brooklyn, MN after searching for good dealerships from the forum here.

Well, Don at Brookdale worked with me for about 10 minutes and we came up with this: The ECM/PCM are a single unit on the '06's and mounted to the Driver's engine block. He spoke with his diesel mechanic and ended up doing a parts search for the '06. He could only order the PCM. There was no listing for the ECM.

That's how we came the conclusion.

I also added that prior to '06, the ECM(on the block) had only one plug coming from it(read that here). The module that is there now has 2 plugs.

So, I am more tempted to make some cuts now...
