P2121 P0700 Help 2003 5.9 Automatic

Second time in 6 moths I've thrown these codes. Both times truck went into limp/dead pedal and was able to recover after pulling over and cycling the truck. Shop can't duplicate and is recommending starting by replacing the throttle position sensor. Mr. Google does say this is one possible fix. I hate shotgunning on repairs but need to start somewhere I guess. Anyone else dealt with this or have some advice. Side Note. Was able to find OEM Cummins replacement on Ebay but looks like the rest are all after market. The shop was can't find a local source of parts so I offered to one shipped to them. Assuming given the choice go with the OEM part right?

Many years ago I had the same issue.
Turns out for me it was the wire harness that runs to the Throttle Position Sensor.
It was strung piano wire tight around a peg under the battery box.
carefully massaging the wire harness to realign the individual wires in the harness resolved the issue.

In general, it is often best to opt for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, especially for critical components like the throttle position sensor. Aftermarket parts may sometimes not offer the same quality or durability, even if they are less expensive.
