P0700 code after 48RE recall service

I checked for codes today after having the C42 and C44 service performed last week and found P0700 set.

P0700 "Transmission Control System (MIL Request)"

Did they forget to reset something?
No check engine light was set. Just the code.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same code set...

I did not check for codes immediately after the service. It was about a week later that I thought about checking.

Anyway, I'll call the service center and ask if I should bring it in.

Maybe it will clear on its own.

Thanks

By using the DRB you can tell how long a code has been in the controller. Perhaps the code was stored even before you had the recall. Not everything happens..."eversince.......".

Thanks for the heads-up silverramer. I checked codes before I had the recalls done (none) then took the truck to the dealer and left it yesterday at 8:30 AM. I picked the truck up ay 4:00 PM and before I drove off the lot, I checked for codes and I have a new one. P0524. How do I determine what it is? Nevermind I found it on the Tech Facts. I had the oil&filter change same time and it set that code when the computer sees pressure is low at the exit of the oil filter.

I had that code last year when my truck had the moisture problem in the PCM. Even after the fix the code was still in the system. Took it back and the mechanic had to clear it in 2 different memories.

Thanks for the heads up though. I get my C42 and C44 done next week and I'll check for the code before I leave....

Turn the key on. (without startiing).
Turn the key off.
Turn the key on.
Turn the key off.
Turn the key on and leave on.

The codes (if any) should appear on the odometer.

Where do you find a list of what the codes mean?

Right Sliverramer.
Turn the key to ignition (not start) then off and on three times in quick succession, off ignition, off ignition, off ignition, displays the codes in the odometer window on the dash.

On this forum under TECH FACTS at the top. Look for
"Common FAQ - IE, ODBII, ODBIII etc."

It should have also had 6 dashes or so just prior to saying done, meaning I assume, no codes. Done I'm told, simply means it finished reading the code accumulator.
