P0336 cam position code

A friend of mine has a 04.5 with twin pumps, twin chargers, large stix's,camshaft, smarty. It had a TST on it a while back but it has been removed along with the harness.

The truck will pop a P0336 code which is the cam position sensor code and will miss and buck with light throttle.Replace the cam position sensor and seems like all is fine but the later in the day it pops up again.I know the tst will flash this code every now and again but not with the smarty.

Any help would be appreciated.

Eric

Yes, read the above thread.

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=81936

Wire chaffs going over the A/C lines right above the compressor to the High/Low pressure sensor. 5 volts on this line is the same 5 volts that is used for the camshaft position sensor. The wire is grounding out. Throw some electrical tape on the wire and some plastic wire loom and call it a day.

Mine kept popping the same code, about every three days and took the a/c sensor wires re-wrapped them in tape and put loom on them and it solved the problem.
