However, for a 2003-05 QC Shortbox 2wd with the NV5600 6 speed manual trans, you can get a custom 1 piece aluminum drive shaft built.

I don't have one but have researched it. The 1 piece driveshaft ends up being about 3 inches longer than a QCLB 4x4 drive shaft.
This still ends up shorter than the max length published by several drivetrain companies.

I have never had an issue with my 2 piece driveshaft but this will be my solution when I do.

The 2wd G56 trans is identical to the 4x4 G56.
There is no slip joint in the trans output shaft unlike the 2wd NV5600.
Therefore there is no way to run a 1 piece driveshaft on a 2wd G56.
