Oil Pressure drops to zero after....

This afternoon I started my truck up and everything went like it's suppose to. Oil pressure come up to just above 40psi. Then after about 15sec. of running the "check gauges" light came on and pinged at me. I look at each gauge to see whats going on. I notice that the oil pressure is at zero I shut if off, still sitting in the driveway. Let it sit for a few seconds and cycle the key and wait for the the plug light to go off and start it up again. Oil pressure is fine and then after about 10-15 seconds the same thing happend. The ping and the oil pressure falls to zero. Any ideas as to what the problem it. Had the truck out last night to go the Home Depot and everything was fine.

Sounds like a bad oil pressure sending unit.

Boy are you good! The dealer just called and they ordered a new sending unit and will have it installed tomorrow morning. Hope they are right.
