my truck has had minor oil leak from the area near the tone ring/front of oil pan since I got it with 166k on it. It only dripped a little so I haven't been too worried about it until recently. I've developed a strange noise that you hear when I'm in front of the truck with it idling. It sounds like a metallic rattle like something in the grill area is rattling. It almost sounds like something thrashing around inside a tin can. Well since this noise seems to be getting much worse lately, so has the oil leak. It's leaving a noticeable amount of oil on the ground every time I park. Any guesses what this might be? Front main seal?
Any suggestions on where to take it to have it looked at in the Northern Colorado area?
