Oil Guard Bypass Filtering System

Hi Members,

Has anyone read the new 8-Lug magazine for February yet. I wrote an article for the magazine back last fall and they have now put it in their magazine. Please read it and let me know what you think. The article is on page 50. This is the best Diesel Truck Web Site around.

That was a good write up. Very clear installation instructions and pictures.

I wish someone would make that mount and sell it (hint. hint.) I'd probably do an Amsoil bypass, but that mount should work perfectly.

OK, probably a dumb question, but what exactly does the Oil Bypass system do you you?

Oil Guard is a good set up but the Baldwin OB1305 Filter Base along with Baldwin B50 or B164 by pass filters cost less and it filters just as good.

A oil by pass will filter out particles down in the 1-2 micron in range. Your stock oil filter, filters oil in the 25-35 micron range and the particles between 5 and 20 micron that a normal oil filter leaves behind is whats bad for your engine.
