Oil Fume smell?

Does anybody notice the smell of oil fumes near the front of the cab. I know, i know, it is a diesel, however, the reason i liked the Ram so much was that when i bought it I did not notice the smell of oil fumes in or near the cab like my powerstroke. It got so bad with my Ford that at a red light I had to put the windows up sometimes. It turned out to be a cracked y pipe but the smell was always around, just not as strong. I have not had this prob thru the first 30k miles. I did put O'reillys brand of 15w-40 of ci4+ rated oil in at the last change. They told me it was bottled for them from Shell and same as rottella T. Has anybody had this problem of strong oil fumes by simply changing oil brand. I think this may be the cause, but it just doesn't make sense. Also I seem to have a little oil spot underneath that comes from the blow-by tube under the engine. is this normal???

Oddly enough...yes, I have had the same problem with Rotella in my Dodge.
The exhaust is very strong, and easily gets into the cab.
It smells like a land-fill.
I always used Rotella in my Ford Powerstroke, but it never smelled any different.
In my Dodge it does.
After a 1000 miles or so, it gets better.

Thanks Matt & 1st. I thought i was crazy. I have put 3200 miles since last oil change for a total of 32,500 and the smell is still noticable if standing next to the front of the truck. I used the Rottella T for the first 30k miles and no smell. Now that I used O'reillys brand, bam; now a smell.

Easy fix

Yeah it is frequently referred to rosmella.
You can extend your blowby tube under the cab and it will take care of the problem.
