Oil filter comparison.

Are Wix oil filters (sold at Carquest auto parts) the same filter as Fleetguard filters. B/C they look exactly the same on the inside. Just different printing on the outside.

Don't think so, but can't say for sure. Wix are a Dana Corp product and are identical to a NAPA Gold. They may be mechanically similar, but Fleetguard has different filter media. Could be manufactured in the same plant to different specifications. To be honest, I have never cut a Fleetgaurd in half, but I have seen the internals. I have cut a NAPA Gold open, it is a good filter IMO. Based on the strong recomendations on this board and the relationship with Cummins I have used Fleetguard filters exclusively.
