Oil Change Overfill

Hi Guys

I had my oil changed at the dealership the other day, and the idiots overfilled it by about 2.5 litres.
I drove it home about 12 miles dicovered the problem and drove it back to the dealer to drain the oil and refill.
Did not appear to be foaming and sounded alright.
Should I be worried?
2004 305 555 Cummins.
Holds 11.4 litres with the filter...had about 14 litres in it for about 25 miles.

My brother in law who rebuilds car engines said that with an engine as big as the Cummins , a couple of extra quarts is no big deal, and probably would not have caused a problem of foaming?

if you had that much oil for such a short period of time- you should be ok. but i would of got it documented at the dealer-just to be on the safe side.

Not to worry. It's the long term effect of overfilling that is the problem. I've run mine a quart over for 7,000 miles cause I was too lazy to drain out a quart. You just get more coming out the blow by tube.

no worries... that just gives you another excuse to get off the couch [or other favorite chair] and do your own oil changes.
