Oil Overfill

I accidently overfilled the oil in my 6.7 by about 1/2 gal. Do you think I should drain the excess or is it OK to run it that way? Comments welcome.

drain it down, some engines can be overfilled and the crank will not pass thru the oil, some engines, for example a 85 Toyota 4x4 22re engine if overfilled by 1.5 quarts will barely maintain 60 mph (even at the best of times its a struggle) its because it robs power from the engine to force the crank throws thru the oil in the crankcase. over filling (to a point) will not cause seals to pop (another myth)

i would drain it...yeah its a hassel but having too much oil is like having too little, thats what i always been told and to me it make sence. every one of my trucks and tractors are a 1/4-1/2 over to allow for loss from seepage exc.

I would drain it to reach the proper level. Too much is bad, just like too little.
