ouch... we zipped from 1.939 to 2.009 to 2.069 in the course of a few days but I guess that's nothing. I also wonder how this works out in the whole economy? Everything gets delivered with a diesel engine hauling it - trains, trucks... Until now I just assumed it would stay stable. I wonder what summer will bring us?

I filled up Friday... 2.629. Passed my two other places and they were 2.669 and 2.699.

Oh well, it doesn't look like I'll be buying diesel much longer... however it'll be 92+, but that's still about 20 -30 cents cheaper.

I am not sure if that will last or not. I noticed on a trip to Sherman up 75 here in Texas, diesel was only $.10-$.15 more than regular. Premium is actually more than diesel in some places. Diesel was $2.09, regular $1.99 at Love's truck stops.

Might be a different story today . Man these prices change in a hurry.

At the Pacific Pride pumps in the Portland area prices have dropped about 30 cents in last ten days. Lets hope this trend keeps up. Its about $2.50/gal now. I hear the Washington Refineries are producing summer blend now. Maybe prices will drop. (I won't hold by breath though...)

I can imagine that we tax payers will be bailing out the Airline industry before the summer is over. Someone tell me how the Airlines still have discount fares when the fuel has gone up over 30% in one year.

Because it is a very competitive market. They are afraid they will lose business if they raise prices and their competitors don't - they have planes to pay for and they need revenue, even at a loss. So almost all of them are losing money and a few are in or near to bankrupcy.

bigsam, if the WA refineries are turning it out now they must be passing it off to OR and CA because we are still mostly $2.699 and $2.799.

Yeah, I have never been able to figure out how the price of oil keeps going up and then gas/diesel goes up, refineries need updated/rebuilt and then the oil companies post record profits.
