Odd fuel issue?
Odd fuel issue?
some specs:
04.5 Cummins
cold air intake
MBRP exhaust
Quadzilla something or other box (memory is shot)
105,000 miles - I've owned since new
I've had a full Isspro gauge package since the truck was new. Recently, I have seen my fuel pressure at zero upon start up. Yes i know that indicates a potential lift pump issue.
However, my truck exhibits no signs of an actual issue. It's thrown no code and I can hear the pump run upon keying it. If you drive 5 to 10 miles, the guage slowly climbs to normal range and stays there. However, it doesn't react as it once did to throttle input - i.e pressure drop upon acceleration. Truck starts, runs and drives perfectly. I have only driven the truck twice since this condition started, as it's no longer a daily driver.
I am leaning towards an issue with the guage itself. Has anyone had this problem? Is this just wishful thinking on my part? Am I just avoiding the obvious lift pump repair?
The truck will most likely be sitting until mid June what I will be hauling the off road Jeep around. I'd like some suggestions, so i can repair if needed prior.
Any input is apreciated.
Thanks all.
