NV 5600 fluid question

i have read several posts on this topic and have read where people like different types of fluid. i need to change mine and this is what the local dealership told me. they said to use 10w30 motor oil in it because that is what DC reccomends now. that just does not sound right to me but i am no tech has anyone else been told this by a dealership. i am just trying to figure out what to go with. thanks for any input.

The recommended fluid has a 5w-30 rating. The synchromesh fluid can be found at Dodge and GM dealers (NV3500 uses the same fluid).

Pennzoil Synchromesh can be found at some auto parts stores. For synthetic Amsoil MTF and Redline MTL.

I use Pennzoil syncromesh , shifts the same as the factory fluid, couldn't tell any difference. I had to go to 3 Autozones to get enough bottles together to do the job though.

I did not plan on using the motor oil because i have read several post about this i was just wondering if anyone had been told the same thing or if the dealership did not know what they were talking about just like they told me there was no such thing as the hoat antifreeze that the service manual calls for. thanks for the info
