Not again
I took my truck for a state inspection at the local Dodge dealer. And when I got home I was checking the oil because I just change it about acouple of hundred miles ago.I saw that around the oil cap there was some oil on it.I let the truck sit for two hours, then I check the oil and it was way over the top line on the dip stick.also the windsheild washer tank was toped off.I called the dealer and they told me that they do a free 14 point check up which includes toping off all fluids.the kid that did the state inspection added oil when he saw it down on the dip stick even though it was in the safe zone.He for got to take into acount that it takes time for all of the oil to drain back to the oil pan after shutdown.I have synthetic oil and he added mopar regular oil.I drain over a qt of oil.And all I wanted was a state inspection.
You need a different dealer/service department. A good service writer will stop that kind of stupidity. And if the people that are adding oil don't know better they should not be allowed to touch another diesel.
At least you're not going to hurt anything with the regular oil mix. It's not a great thing, but 1qt with 11 qts synthetic isn't going to hurt the properties of your Schaeffer's much, if at all.
