noob with fuel filter question

hey, I'm sure this topic has been beat to death, read a really long thread deabating Wix filter vs. brand x, etc.
I found the link to Geno's garage, and If I get this '07 (I know, I'm a stessball, lol), I will print out the procedure for replacing the fliter, and keep it as reference, but at this point, and with out the vehicle it front of me, the process sounds confusing, and somewhat difficult.
So, my question, what does it cost to have a fuel filter replaced? Either at the dealer, or an idependent garage... I'm a good 60miles from the "local" dealer, but there are alot of diesels up in my neck of the woods, so I can probably find a decent mechanic nearby. I'm just trying to figure out what the real cost of owning this truck will be, so I appreciate any insight people have.
FYI: I looking at an '07.5, 6.7, 6spd, quad cab, 4x4, under 10k miles!
thanks

Do it yourself...it's SUPER easy.

Crack the yellow drain valve, loosen filter cap, drain fuel from housing. Close valve, take top off of housing, remove filter, swap filter, replace oring, lube oring, put filter back in, put top back on, tighten cap to hand tight, bump starter twice and fire her up, and check for leaks.

^^^^^^^cost of ownership tends to be high if used as a grocery getter, low if hauling with hway miles breakeven point of diesel vs. gas seems to be in the 100k range. then itll start paying u back.

Easy to do and good to know how to do, I keep a spare filter and tools in my truck all the time just incase I need to change a filter out on the road someplace.
