In another one of my threads I was having a problem with it sputtering or almost surging at low to mid throttle and also idle at stop lights. It wouldn't do it if it was in park only when it was in D,N,R. On that thread they said Camshaft,Crankshaft sensor or ECM.I still have not found the problem it doesn't do it all the time just enough to let me know something is wrong.I noticed the light stop working after changing the fuel filter trying to fix the other problem. Before this problem I had the EDGE and several injector error codes.I have removed that P.O.S. and the codes have now gone away but these new problem's have replaced them. Any ideas??

Two things.
1. Does the WTSL come on at all?
2. Is it still sputtering and such with everything removed?

Need to figure out if we are chasing two problems or if they are related.

The WTSL only comes on briefly when I turn the key on as do the other normal lights. There is no delay to it at all like there used to be about a week ago.The last 2 days it sputtered once I'm not sure if I had some bad fuel or if this problem is related. The sputtering did not start frequently until after the EDGE was removed. With the EDGE it had error codes of injector problems and sputtered only when that code came on which was at steady high speed throttle 70-95mph trips of 60 minutes or longer.Never on any short trips or driving around town at lower speeds. Hope this helps you help me?BTW that was the 4th EDGE I've gone thru on the truck before giving up with the product.

One other thing the Boost Fooler,BD lift pump,Triple Dog have not been installed yet until I can get this issue fixed. It has been in the shop twice the first time they said it was the MAP sensor and changed it with no change to problem. The second time it would not sputter and they said I was crazy.

I would have to say the WTSL is normal for the ambient temperatures this time of year. As for the stuttering and sputtering and such, its going to be hard to diagnose without having a scanner or something hooked up when it does it. It could be a sensor, but I'm starting to think it might be a bad injector, FCA, or rail relief valve. Have a fuel pressure guage? Maybe the lift pump is going?

As stated the 04.5 always had the grid heater light come on when first starting, maybe only for the 3 second self test but it did light. Mine did and it always bothered me as to why. Now with the 07 (think it started it 06) it no longer comes on above 50 degrees. As to why it no longer is coming on no idea unless the heater has failed? Do your lights still dim when first starting the truck? Did it light when you did the dash test and if not might the indicator bulb be burned out unless it is part of the dash itself???

Just more questions without answers I guess but a few more items to think about.

Yeah, I noticed the WTSL doesn't light up at all on my '06 when it's warm out.

Bob's post kinda scared me a little!

When i bought my 06 i thought for sure something was wrong... the lite would flash and that was it.. part of light test prior to startup..
went to the dealer, they checked everything.. they said it was just fine.

till today, about one year later.. still does the same, starts just fine...

i always had diesels, specially the old ones.. where you had to cycle them puppies a couple a times... it was rough up north.. now in fla.. nice and warm.. once in a while a slight cool... 50's but then goes right back up..hee hee

btw, is the bulb test ok? and are you throwing any codes? what does your outside temp gauge state...

The bulb test showed everything was fine and I'm not throwing any codes yet. The outside temp was 106 today but last year when it hit 123 the light still always came on. One theory is I had something wrong with it then and it has fixed itself. The other thing is I no longer have the Edge Juice on it any more ya think it may be related?

Not to be a smart alec, but they don't "fix themselves" I would like to know did the light come on at ALL with the EDGE on or not? Did taking the EDGE off fix the driveability issues you were having as well?

I know I was being an idiot, yes the light always came on with the Edge it was right about the time I took it out that I noticed the light not coming on anymore. And ironically the sputtering has all but stopped it only does it once or twice a day now? I have done nothing else to try and correct the issue the only thing I can think of is maybe I had some bad fuel in the tank and it took several fill ups to clear out? My lift pump and gauge are on back order so once they get here it may shed a Little more light on to what may be going on. I am going to put the gauge on first and monitor somethings before I put the new pump on to see what kind of difference I get in readings.

Sounds like a very logical plan of attack! Keep us up to date.
