No more torque.......
I took my truck in to the dealer the other day to re-flash my cpu for the white smoke at start up and lack of performance and it cleared up the rough idling and poor economy but now the truck is "gutless"! I have to punch it to get it to get out of its own way!
The turbo spools up good and the truck doesn't hesitate just feels like I am pulling a 18,000lb. trailer all the time. I have checked my air filter and fuel filter and both are fine. Can the dealer put the wrong flash in it and slow it down? When it was running like crap it would pull harder than this! I didn't know if they could have put the wrong flash in it like the 305HP one or something.
I am just very disappointed with this truck right now due to the crap i have had to go through ever since i bought it. Is there a re-flash someone would recommend to get my truck running hard again?

being that you took it in for low power, I doubt the reflash would fix "low power". What rear gear do you have. Even with the 3.73, your truck should pull pretty hard.
there is a lot of torque management until about 16-1800 rpm, but by 2000 rpm you should be able to feel it accelerating pretty hard.
Did the dealer drive it? Did you ask to do a back to back withanother 48re 610 truck?

The truck felt like it lost a little torque when i straight piped it but not enough to worry me.
I was thinking the same thing about the program having a glitch in it while downloading or something.
The truck ran great as far as power wise before the re-flash just ran rough at a stop light and white smoked at start up in the mornings. The re-flash cleared the problems I took it in for just now the truck has no "marbles"!

I took it to a different dealer today and they went over the motor very extinsively and drove it a couple times and said that it was an injector that was out or going out and that the problem lied there. It was clattering way more than it should and no power at all.
I drove while the tech. had a handheld device that would control the engine and he shut down whatever injector was bad and the truck got real quite and no more clattering! I was impressed. He said that once the injector was swapped that the truck will run totally different....boy i sure hope so.
So, if ya'll are ever on I-20 in West Texas stop by the dealership in Monahans,Tx. with your problem and they will fix you up.
