NO getting out of K01 CA update!~

Just got my renewal for registration. I cannot register this year unless I get the K01 recall done. Oh well, I stalled out as long as I could! LOL

I had the smog test and renewed this year. I didn't have to do any updates. Perhaps mine already had this update (I've owned it since new and it's only been updated once a long time ago for white smoke, etc.)? What does the update do and why don't you want it?

The update allows CA DMV to read how many miles you drive, how often, average speed, idle time, etc. So some day they can tax us on to much idle time etc. They " Claim" the update only allows the Smog station computers to read the ECM. Thats not true as I had mine smogged last year w/0 the update and it read it just fine. But you can't register unless its done. Anyway, the only people I read about having problems are those with programmers etc Like Smarty and the like. I have driven 100 miles since it was done and can't tell a difference. I filled up my tank right after I had it done so I will know mileage in a week or so. LOL

Mine smogged fine to. THats proof the Calif DMV is using it to read other stuff. This year to renew it was printed on my registration that it had to be done.

A couple of techs on these site have reflashed this update with no complaints from the owners. Mine's due in December so it'll probably have the K01 done to it if I bring it in for the tre recall. My updated suspension is installed correctly, but I'm hoping Dodge will reimburse me.

Smarty's going to have to come off and Marco's update done. I haven't darkened the dealer's door since buying this truck in 10-06,that's the spooky part.

What's different about my 05? Never got a recall notice and smogged it last week.

Well, truck was running great and my mileage was really good until the #4 injector line blew today. Or so we think. They are looking at it now. Waiting to hear back.

Did the cal smog yesterday, 10 min and $41. I had mine reflashed some time ago and have no issues. Except for the black helicopters following me everywhere I go. Now I have a Smart Meter on my house to spy on me there too.

That meter has the ability to turn off your power remotely by the Co for non payment of the bill. Someday they will be able to shut down your car for the same reason. I know the Smart Meter very well.
