New to website !!!!
Good day all. New to the site and its a wealth of info. I have just bought a 2006 ram 3500 , qc short box. I have a vibration at 65-70 mph, and it doesn't
show up , before or after this speed. I have already put in $ for u-joints from front to back , and the tires on the truck were new when I purchased it 2 weeks ago. been reading lots of horror stories about these newer trucks , and my next step it get the tires balanced , and if that doesn't fix the problem , then its rear diff , and driveshaft balance. to look at the rear driveshaft , I notice no weights missing, dents, etc. Getting tired of searching for answers via my wallet, but the truck is no good sitting in the garage broke down either. Never had these problems with my 97. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

last thing I want to do is get a tire war going
but what brand of tire, size tire and psi are you running on the truck?,
I have a 2500, 2005 model, its a 2x4
I run the Michelin AS 265/70-17 load range e tires at around 70psi
I also have Rancho 9000 shocks
they are smooth, may not be the cheapest or longest mileage tire, but so far I have had good luck with them as they ride and drive good.
these old heavy, stiff suspension trucks must have good tires or they will beat you to death
cheap trick, but you might try different psi and just see if it makes a difference, example: set them to 50, 60, 70 psi
do you have good shocks,
however, it sounds like you may have at least one tire out of round, this problem is very difficult to fine and fix without changing all tires.
if someone else has a truck like yours and his is smooth, you could change tires and wheels with him, if you still have the problem, then its in your truck, if smooth, then its in your tires.
good luck and let us know what you find!!!!!!!!!!

I am running 265-70-17 goodyear wrangler tires. I am running 50psi in front and 40 in the back when not hauling no load. noticed the vibration coming home with the truck and checked tire pressure and they were @ 65psi ! Going to take it in on Tuesday and get the tires balanced. Hopefully its just an out of round issue. My mechanic also mentioned that it could be transmisiion problems. AARRGGHH!!! I trust his opinion , as he and the boys at their shop work on these trucks all the time, but I will try the cheap stuff first. By the way , the original shocks are still on the truck.
Get a "road force" tire balance, makes a big difference! Look for misaligned alignment marks too (white paint marker stripes made at the factory). It's possible they rotated the driveline 180° when they put it back in.
