Looked this morning and all was good. Being shipped today from tx, destinations spokane 3-21- 05. Just checked again. Says bad order, Wheel axles defect.

I've heard of axles getting screwed up when a vehicle was put on a car hauler and the tie-down chains were tightened too much. Maybe something like this could have happened.

Good luck,

Probably wouldn't catch something like that while it was in transit. I would guess that the car it's on got set out for a wheel or axle defect.

I can't shed any more light on this, but where are you "looking"? Does DC have a website or something where you can track the status of a new truck? If so, please let us know about it!

Not trying to get off the subject (and I wish I could shed some light on your situation) but I am curious about why so many people “order” trucks. I mean you have had your truck on order for almost three months? Man I would be going crazy (which I assume you are). What are you guys ordering that you couldn’t get on a truck that is sitting on the lot right now? I went out one Saturday and shopped around until I found the truck I wanted. It had everything but the navigation radio and I bought that at a later time for less money then the dealer wanted. I couldn’t order a truck that suited me more than what I’ve got on this truck. It was exactly like I wanted.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just go out and find a truck that suits your needs and taste? I’m not trying to be rude I’m just curious. There is no way I could wait for three months.

I searched high and low for my truck including Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana. I just couldn't find one *exactly* how I wanted it. I found a bunch right on the nose, but longbed, or without heated seats, or no limited slip. I guess I figure if I'm going to spend this much money for a truck that I'm going to spend ten to fifteen years with, then I'd better get it perfect. That being said, I was going nuts waiting for it. It finally showed up on Valentines Day weekend ... ... ... yeah ... I thought about it, but I waited another week for the trip to Kellogg. All said and done - I'd order another one. The price was right and the rig was perfect. You can't ask for anything more.

re: why order?

I "shop" for a dealer who will deal, then I have them order what exactly what I want. Around here I had trouble finding a truck to test drive, let alone one with the options I wanted and without the option I didn't want. I don't buy vehicled that often, so a few months wait is not a big deal for me.

i guess we just have an excessive amount of trucks around here (at least 10 dealers within a 60 mile radius) . i can see how ordering would be good i just don't think i could wait.

t-7 firefighter, Two main reasons I ordered this truck.1st, I supposedly got 1000.00 more off.
2nd and main reason was to get the new G56, 6sd. as they weren't even out yet. If I could of went straight to the dealer and got the new 6sp I would of. Would I do it again? NO. The waiting is the worst part. Now thinking there might even be some thing wrong with the order or a defect doesn't help.

Next time I'll go to a dealer, check it out see what I want and if I like it I'll buy it. No hassle no worries.

If you were tracking it using the railroad's website then bad order means the railcar it was riding in was foo-bar and has to be fixed to continue it's journey....

"Bad Order" is a typical RR term.

Andy, I like your responce the best. Some thing to do with the railcar.
Just heard from another source the rearends in the new trucks aren't at the correct angle to the driveline and their is a recall. And some axles were blowing up. So their having a recall to put shims in.

Called dealer, hasn't heard anything about a recall. The dealer I've been in contact with has been great. Keeps me up to date with everything and still has a ship date of 3-23. still hoping
its just a railcar.

Has anybody else heard of a recall to do with rearend angles?

i wouldnt want to order either. i never saw my truck until a week after papers were signed. the dealer told me exactly what it was and what it had on it, he overnighted papers, we overnighted them back, then a week later i went and picked it up and saw it for the first time. i didnt get to search the lot OR order heh. i just told him what i wanted on it, he went and found one.

I had to order as there are not too many DRW trucks on the lots (read as NONE), let alone a Sport Laramie!

I'll always only order em. I want what I want. Not alot of dealers to pick inventory from and the way I want them is hard to find on a lot. I like em stripped down with just the heavy stuff on em. Heated seats.... man o man if only my grandfather was still here to see that kind of stuff!
