Maybe this was asked already, but will one be able to get an early '07 w/ the 5.9L and 6sp auto trans?
Sounds like the ideal setup minus the first year blues w/ a new model transmission.

AFAIK, any truck sold after Jan '07 will have to meet the new Tier II EPA regs (will need to be the new 6.7L). Not sure if there will be MY 2007 5.9L trucks sold prior to Jan or not.

Here's a site that talks briefly about the 6.7 HP/Torque 325hp 750 lbs/ft torque. This might be aimed at Class 4, 5, and 6 trucks. ?? This as of April 2006.

cannot be used in an 07 diesel motor

Yep, I've noticed that around here, too...

I'm sure they'll slap a sticker on the fuel door of the Tier II trucks that says "ULSD Diesel Fuel Only", or something similar.

Hmm, an '07 model year with the current 5.9L mated to the new 68re tranny would definately be a sweet setup...if they make any. Only time will tell...

They won't. I all ready have about 8 or 10 07' pick-ups ordered and the choice is still the 5.9 Cummins/48re. They'll switch over to the 6.7/6-speed auto on jan-1-07.
