New front Driveshaft, where is best place to buy?

Ok, I need to replace the front driveshaft on my truck. I know the joints are bad and I thought I read that by time you pay to have it rebuilt or buy the joints and rebuild it myself, it would be almost as expensive as just buying a new one. Is this true?

also, I heard that the front shafts for the 05 and up have better joints and they are actually cheaper and will work on an 04. Is this true?

I did some searching, but didn't see much.

Thanks Folks

Im in the middle of replaceing my whole front drive shaft as well, I broke the Cv joint.

It id cheaper for me to buy the whole driveshaft then have it rebuilt.
for an 03-04 truck its $480.00 canadian for the works.

Just the u-joints were 130 bucks canadian.

Nick.
