New engine, water temp fluctuates, never used to.

Just got the new engine and towing a 9000# 5th wheel through cool whether, 30-40*, raining, sleet, and water temp ran at about 190*(stock gauge), but under a load, it climbs to about 210*, when backed out, it settles back to 190*.

The thing is, with my old engine, it never fluctuated, towed the same trailer in Vegas last year in 100* whether and drove it back to Montana....so is this something to be concerned about and proactive, or just keep an eye on it?

Thanks

Just as long as the fan is kicking on, it sounds about right with me too. My stock guage fluctuates like that also. Keep an eye on it, you should be fine.

Pulling Sounds OK to me.But you might take off your heater hose to see if it is air locked!!Pulling your fifth wheel with a new engine is no way to brake in a new eng!!!!
