Guys, I took my silencer ring off about 4 months ago, but have not noticed any difference in gas mileage or performance. I want to pt it back in, but I think I threw it out. Any one got an extra one laying around they don't need? If so, just PM me. I will be glad to pay for the shipping. Thanks!

I am one of the "weird" CTD owners:

1.) I like that I can only barely hear the turbo.
2.) I like that my truck is pretty quiet for a diesel.
3.) I like that my truck doesn't smoke out the intersection when I take off.

#3 is the biggest reason why I haven't purchased a Smarty yet, it seams like people who like smoke think it is great, and those that don't like the smoke are asking how to make it stop smoking.

I do not plan on removing the silencer ring. It sounds like a lot of people get sick of the high pitch screaming turbo after not too long.

 

I'm like OR Mega Cab with one exception: I like to hear the turbo. With the stock intake removing the ring makes the turbo only marginally louder. On mine it seemed to change the pitch more than increase sound level.

Anyway.....FlaCracker, I have mine if you want it.

I noticed the same thing when I removed mine - changed from a whistle to a whoosh sound... it's actually louder with the ring in.

 

I have mine still and I would be willng to part with it. Let me know.
