Need to replace my Dodge
I have a mega as you can see in my sig and pic. My son is 6'-2 1/2" at age 13! Enough room for him on short trips (less than 4 hrs) before he starts to put his legs up on the center arm rest/ storage! Only thing I'm not liking is I'm going to have to rewire my rear doors (especially left side which I open the most) cause the wire length isn't long enough in the boot and they break after a time when you open the door it's full 90 degrees. Mega is better as Crew cab gets rid of storage behind the seats. I avg. in the city about 16 mpg and on the hwy about 18 mpg. Also replaced all blend doors as sometimes one breaks as my floor door did.
OK, a few more questions. What are available gear ratio's? is there just 3.73 or 4.11? my old dodge was 3.55. found a fully loaded megacab, 4x4, laramie, manual, 98k miles for $30k. forgot to check rearend though. Is gear ratio and limited slip info listed on door or under the hood?
Also curios, truck had chrome steel wheels, would have thought a laramie would have the aluminum alloys like big horn, but I don't think i know the trim package hierarchy very well.
thanks, love this website, pacmule

3.73 and 4.10s are the ratios offered in 3rd gens. If its a 2500 then mostly likely its 3.73s. If its a dually 3500 then most likely 4.10s. A SRW 3500 could easily be either.
Note I said "MOST" likely, please don't clutter up the thread with your truck specs, its a loose rule.
Only way I know of to tell is to pull the build sheet(dealer or call/email Chrysler) or crawl under and check the tag on the diff.
Or check the RPMs at highway speed, over 1800 is probably 4.10s, under or around is probably the 3.73s.
My '03 dually with 4.10s tops out at about 90mph, pushing 3200rpm.

DONE!! sooner than expected but I now have a 2006 megacab in my driveway. manual transmission, 3.73 rearend, loaded with all kinds of stuff thats going to take me weeks to figure out how to use. 22.4 average mpg on the 100 mile trip home last night.
