Need help with a trouble code...

My 2003 CTD (California SO) has a warning light on the dash has just popped up and it says "Lamp Out". I have walked all around the truck, checked brake and trun signals and all is fine.

I also have a Bully Dog Power Pup downloader and when I looked at the trouble codes I thought I saw an OS602... After reading about other members and their codes I might have the "OS" part wrong. I can't find any code that begins with OS.

Anyone came across this yet? With the downloader, air intake and lift kit I'm a little scared to take it to the dealer.

Thanks,

Chad

Well, no one else is much help, I guess I'll just talk to myself. When I previously checked my lights I was alone and was unable to check the brake lights. Yep, it was the rear brake light. New bulb, no more "lamp out" light.

The PO602ECM code is still present. I called Bully Dog and was told that this code will appear for about ten on and off cycles after each time you re-program or re-download a new power setting. I was told it's just a Comm. error and was no big deal...but thanks for all the help guys!

Just kiddin. Hope this might help someone else.

Bye Chad.

Okay Chad, talk to ya soon

Sorry for the late reply.

Glad you found your faulty light and fixed the "lamp out" message.

I looked up the "602" code in the 2004 manual. It says, "checksum error" and the fix was "replace the ecm". So it probably is related to the Bully Dog and nothing to worry about.
