Well, I think there's a lot of fellas on here dying to hear you say which oil you use, and which filters you run.....

There's gonna be some real crying when you say you're not running Amsoil with super filtration!

My guess.... Some standard dino oil and fleetguard filters. Am I close?

All that has ever been ran in this engine is rotella dino oil and napa filters.
I dont believe in amsoil. More money for oil and filters is not the key....maintance is the only answer. Some will disagree with me and thats fine....i have the proof in my drive way, not on some spec sheet that anybody can make up a bunch of numbers and graphs and say there oil and filters are bettter.
Just my opinion. I grease her every oil change all underneath and also all hinges and latches.

Sweet.... Rotella and Napa. I ran from Rotella when I read a report that said it wasn't any good, but maybe I'll care less now.

Good call greasing hinges and latches. I'll put that on my list. Maybe even wipe down door seals.

Thanks for the real world input. I'm waiting to hear some oil experts chime in here and point out what you're doing wrong.

As far as the rest of the truck i try to wash it once a week weather permitting, thats when i wipe down all seals around doors and the mating service, i also wipe the seals with wd40 to keep them from drying out and cracking. I get alot of flac from friends and nieghbors about how i baby my truck but they are also the first ones to say how a 2003 truck with that many miles on it and it still looks brand new inside and out...thats the part that i like to hear and pushes me more to do even more to keeping it that way.

Wow, it says a lot that you want to refurbish your truck and keep driving it at that many miles. I am curious as to whether your clutch is still original, as you didn't mention it.
Thanks,

TF
