N. TX Valve Body Install

I'm ordering a GB VB tomorrow.

I need some North Texas help swapping it in. We have alot of South TX and Lake Charles, LA help offerings but I'm not gonna be down there soon.

Someone PM me if you're fairly close to me and would help with this swap. Not for free. But not for tranny shop cost either please.

I have all kinds of written instructions and pics but that don't help inexperience.

I talked to James and He can do a new VB and tranny refresh for me with a better than expected turnaround. $$ and time = turnaround for me.

I think I'm gonna have to go with him.
I was talking with Stacked97 about having full DTT support right down the street and it just makes more sense to have this done locally, not to mention professionally!

Good choice! Those things are a little tricky for "beginners".

I'm going down to him Tuesday.

I won't be a beginner after then cause he won't turn a bolt without my photomagical memory recording every step.

The biggest thing is just R/R a VB isn't enough, so I've learned. I mean it's more to it than just dropping one and putting another one in.
Band struts, hockey sticks and solenoids. Last time I heard crush washers was in the armory days.

You might try Eagle trans. off of 35 in Denton, or there performance shop complete with new dyno on 380 about 15 miles W. of Denton

I'm all done! I made it to James' shop at 9am this morning. He got started immediately! Finished up about 11:20am.

He certainly knows his stuff. It shifts different. I hate to say this 'it kind of reminds me of the Allison'

Here is a list of what I can remember.
1. new Towing VB
2. new solenoid and transducer
3. new billet accumulator
4. new band, band strut

Pressure test and fill with AMSoil

I unexpectedly got a new Kick-down cable and bracket. aka TV cable.
It was missing from the last shop I went to, we suspect.

Congrats! Glad James got it running right for ya!

So James installed a GB Valve body for you? Not DTT?

Are you still using the stock Torque Converter?

No No, I didn't ask him to do the GB. I got his DTT.
I just couldn't bring myself to ask him that. And now that I've met him it's even better that I went with him.

Still on the stock TC, I will try to get that done before the end of the year.

hmm, did you buy the VB seperately and have him install it, or did you order everythign thru him? After owning my NV5600 for 3 years, I really miss what a firm shift feels like. Am looking into a new TC and VB
