Must have mods?

i am soon going to be a new owner of a 2005 3500 dually with a 6-speed stick. (325/610 i believe?) what are the must have mods that will improve reliability and drivability? im use to the 2nd gen forum and never really venture over here so nothing is to obvious for me thanks in advance!!!!

A 2 micron fuel filtering system would be a good place to start.

Better air filter, better flowing exhaust and better fuel filtration is a good place to start.
Really just regular maintenance and these trucks will run 500k miles easy...

i heard alot about these CR having valve seat problems if you hot-rod/tow heavy. is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

Typically those problems were on '03-early'04s where the valve seats were an issue.
Really if you tow heavy its always good to have a set of guages anyway, at least just EGT/Boost to see if there is anything wrong and possibly shut it down and fix something while its cheaper...

'04.5-'07(5.9s) are still pretty reliable, just depends on how you use/abuse it

I've gotten as far as adding the Volant powercore intake, otherwise mine is stock power wise. I'm planning a 2 micron fuel filter, an EGT gauge, and probably the 51" donaldson muffler.
