ABS and brake light on

ABS and brake light on
I was traveling down the highway in cruise control, and the cruise just kicked out suddenly and it felt like the truck braked for a second (or it could just have been the jolt from the cruise kicking out). Next thing I know, my ABS light is on, as well as the brake light, and it doesn't go away when I start the truck back up...
Anyone have any ideas, or had this happen to them?
If my ABS light is on, does it mean that the ABS is not working now?
