I try to run under 2k most the time, but I hop up on it once in awhile. A couple of times I have consistantly driven slower and less aggressive to see if it would pan out to more MPG. It seem like 13 Mpg either way though.

I get 18 at least. Mine is 2X4 though so I think there is an increase there. I also suggest a huge air filter. I have a homemade setup using some pipe I got online and a giant filter. It cut EGT by 100 too! I also misplaced my muffler-never had a cat and my tip goes out in front of my rear tire so no rear axle hump. Amsoil in everything too.

Lose low end by removing the cat, I've never heard that before. But with my 06 on crazy larry i get about 21mpg on freeway and about 19 city if i can keep from layin the hammer down. My bro has an 05 with and edge juice and he gets about the same maybe a little better.

Yeah, I was told if I lose the cat, the muffler, and have it it turn out before the wheel well I'd lose my low end I really didn't figure it to be true but I guess why take a chance

I don't think it would be a good idea to remove the cat being you live in CA they may frown big time on the removal of it.

I hope they delete this as i see your in Canada not CA

My last few tanks I was at around 9-10 mpg. All city, cold outside, idle time to warm up truck, and winter blend fuel. I did hit 19.6 last fall on a Hwy trip.

Air up your tires. Keep at least 75psi in the front. You can get away with a bit less in the rear, but I keep 75psi around as I tow 4-5 days a week. My best highway mileage is 21.2 running a steady 65mph for almost 500 miles. 50/50 combo suburban driving (empty and towing) I get 16-17 usually. This past tank I was driving "HARD" and I got only 15mpg. That tank was mostly towing, a lot of short trips and COLD over night temps.
