motor question

can a motor in the truck be started without the trans behind it. just rebuilt the motor and I am dying to hear it run again but it will be until middle of next week before i cna get all my trans stuff in. so will it hurt anything to fire up the motor and break in the new cam without a trans hooked to it?? OK, I thought you were speaking about this start-up.

You should be able to jumper the park switch. Can't comment onthe Dodge, but have done it on others.
