I think a new piston for my 03 was like $100 from Cummins. I don't think that was to bad. How much cheeper can the other guys be?
Good luck,

Well...Lokks like the guys that said they could get rebuild kits can't get pistons. that means for JUST the pistons and rings that I will be spending over $1,000. i'm beginning to think that the other 5 cylinders are gonna get a hone and rings.

Mahle makes pistons for the Cummins.

I think Ross Racing pistons also now has CTD pistons. There's also the Venolia pistons from Schied..

The Cummins RV pistons are what I would do.

I'd also recommend some coatings from www.swaintech.com

same boat you are in tranny went out and the store wanted 2500 to rebuild it. I dont have 2500 from unemployment. so i did it myself for about 600 bucks.

I would not be nervous at all to resleeve the once cylinder and rering the other 5.

like another guy said. some muratic acid to take the aluminum off the bore and who knows. maybe the bore is fine. worth measuring stuff so you really know where you sit.
