To mod or not to mod...that is the question

Just got my 07 quad cab and only have 1300 miles on it. Already been bitten by the mod bug. just can't leave well enough alone. Not doing anything to the cummis, its strong enough for me. But the droopy nose on these 4x4's is just ugly, looks like a dog sniffing in the weeds. Anyway I've been thinking of doing some work after the 97 F350 is sold. Here's what I've been looking at.

Kore leveling kit....just make it look like it should, LEVEL.

Dick Cepek DC-1 chrome wheels 17x9 4.53" backspacing, -12mm offset

BFG All terrain T/A's 305/65/17... would rather have Mud T/As but not available in this size

Or Cepek Mud Country 33x12.50 17... I like the look of these but haven't heard anything about them

Maybe a Thuren track bar. I like the Carli control arms too, man this stuff gets expensive.

Anyone have any bad experiences with anything listed above and the dreaded death wobble? Thanks for the opinions.

Nobody has any of these products or can offer some insight. I know there are many knowledgeable people on this board.

Thanks

Kore is too expensive. Give Don Thuren a call and he can hook you up. Those wheels are probably going to stick out way too far. Try for something closer to 6" backspacing. I know they're harder to find but the closer to 6" you get the less they'll stick out. I haven't heard too much about the Carli contol arms. I know they're pricey. The track bar is a good idea. The BFG's are a good idea also. Especially since they're "E" rated.

Go with a suspension system not just a leveling if you want a way better ride. Carli or Thuren is the way to go, Lorenz is also worth mentioning.

Because the truck is only a month old, I've been thinking of the leveling kit instead of a lift to help retain my warranty. Lift will be done in the future. As for the wheels, I'm very picky when it comes to wheels, almost all the wheels on the market have way to much going on, cuts and facets, I don't want all the glitter when I'm rolling down the road. The Weld Outback or Super Singles are the perfect wheel for me but they don't make em anymore. Which limits my choices in backspacing also, but I do like the wider stance of a wheel with less backspacing.

Is there a good way of measuring to get an idea of how far a wheel will stick out, just use a straight edge from the mounting flange of the brake rotor?

Thanks

After doing a little poking around on the net I found a wheel from centerline that I really like. The Wilderness Series Wildcat will be my wheel of choice, 17x9 5.25" backspacing and +6mm offset. If I did the calculations right it should only stick out farther than the stock wheel by about 2", is this going to cause problems with a 305 BFG or a 33" Cepek tire and a leveling kit?

It shouldn't. Centerline wheels are really good when it comes to proper backspacing and offset for the newer Dodges. My next set of wheels will probably be Centerlines.
