Found myself near a Walmart last week and needed oil. I bought Mobil 1 "Extened Preformance". When I got home I found a qt of the oil I used last time, Mobil 1 "Truck & SUV". Gimmick? Take it back, or use it?

 

The current version of Mobil 1 Truck and SUV is not a CI-4 or CJ oil rated for our diesel engines. The Mobil 1 rated for our diesels is labeled Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel. Look for the API donut and be sure that it's rated CI-4, CI-4+ or CJ-4.

i belive that is the incorrect oil. you can check on their webite to be sure, though.

 

Mobil Delvac 1 5w40 if you want synthetic.....
Mobil Delvac 1300 super 15w40 is what i run,its only $9 a gallon at Advance
Mobil 1 truck and suv was rated for diesel sevice but is discontinued.
Take the extended performance back and get something else.

 

Yes, the Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel is basically Mobil Delvac 1 in consumer packaging. These oils are functionally equivalent.
