Misinformed on vin no.

Have I got the only 2003 with a 48re trany with vin no. that says it is 47re.

What makes you think it is the 47RE?

What is your truck's build date?

I don't think the VIN gives you that info but if you give the VIN to your dealership they can run it and tell you all the options that came on it.

The reason I think it is a 48re is because it's laying on the bench and if I had relied on the information I was ask and told by parts suppliers the wrong part would have been ordered. I think that when you have one these trucks that have mid year changes that more information should be ask for when ordering parts and don't rely so much on ven. no. If it had not been for this site I would have not known to look at the build date and to look inside glove box for code. So thanks goes out for the members on hear that share your knowledge and are willing to talk and admit their mistakes.
