Re:Making the new Cummins....
You know I've heard a few start up when cold and they really aren't that quite when cold, but after they warm up the sound kinda goes away. [undecided]

Re:Making the new Cummins....
Hmmm I wonder if I'd be better off just getting the Hemi/5spd manual, then after the powertrain warranty goes away swapping a old High Output with the 5spd manual into the new truck? I'd have the noise, plus the already large aftermarket behind me....

That would be a huge Pain in the A$$. To many electronicsin the body to deal with. If you want an old engine so bad why don't you buy a used one, or I could try to locate you a new left over 02 model somwhere. There are a few out there still, but not many. :

Re:Making the new Cummins....
Well right now I can't afford the 02 High Output ones I've came across. I don't really care for a fully loaded truck. Plus I will be needing those 4 real doors in a couple years hopefully . Would the old 12 valve Cummins go in easier than the 24 valver? I don't mind the hard work. Ever thought of putting a 509 Bigblock into a S-10 ;D. I'm in the middle of that at the moment, but I decided to get a new truck around may or june so I'll have something reliable to drive around and take trips in...

Well I just don't think it would be worth the headache. That is a big undertaking. And the electronics in the instrumentation and the body of the truck would be insanity. I could see doing this swap on say a 95', but an 03', yikes

Well, I was looking at a Quad Cab short bed 4x4. Hemi with a 5spd manual. Options were cab clearance lights, leather seats, leather steering wheel, 17x8" Aluminum wheels, 4.10 ls rear end, under rail liner, engine block heater, and fog lamps. Invoice is 29,707.

Hehe I changed my mind. I'll go with the new HEMI and run headers and straight piped duals....<br>Luke, not a bad price at all. Hmmm think I can get the same deal around may/june? Where are ya located?
