I have to be honest I haven't driven a Cummins with a stick, but why can't you ignore the clutch and just match RPM's? Too hard to pull out of gear and match or what? I know completely different animal, but that's how I drive my Mustang and she's got 154k on her factory clutch.

The Synchromax is "recommended for manuals that require either atf, multi-vis or straight grade motor oil and is fully compatible with all types of friction materials without affecting the soft metals in synchros". It's similar to the oem lube weight. A lot of napas sell RP but I was in a Checker on Monday and saw they started selling it now. Craig

My tranny was hard shifting until I took Joe Donnelly's advice and used Torco RTF. 30k miles and it shifts smooth and easy even on cold days. Shifts to reverse are easy too.

I fill mine to the factory fill hole. Donnelly suggests that over filling MAY cause leakage onto the clutch.

It has been about 10K now since I switched to REDLINE MTL, and I'm ready to try something new! I will sadly say that the factory fluid made shifting almost 2X easier

Has anyone tried adding the LUCAS additive????????

This tranny is the worst, stiffest shifting tranny I have driven

According to the tests and comments I read a long time ago LUCAS oil/lube additives is I'm suprised that the REDLINE MTL did not make you happy.I have been very pleased with the Amsoil in mine. The EXTRA Qt through the top PTO cover bolt hole made a noticeable improvement also.I did the extra Qt.many moons later.Don't get me wrong,it still shifts as bad as 4 on the column in a 1960s Fiat but thats as good as it gets.
