lucas synthetic oil addative

Has anyone tried adding the lucas synthetic addative in the recomended amount to their nv5600 manual trans? I'm running the amsoil syncromesh fluid now and was wondering about adding it at next change.

I think that if you need an oil "Stabilizer" >>> Just start with a more stable oil...
Now with fuel... have at it... You need all you can get...
But oil?? Just buy the good stuff and you won't need additives.

I totally agree, a good oil is it.The fuel I would be more concerned with adding a additive as dry as some of this fuel is these days. Mechanic friend of mine told me Friday when I went out to his shop to do a oil change on my truck, that he had three 02 Dodges in that week for injection pump failures and he figures it's due mostly to the fuel these days.

Don't mess with the Amsoil formula.Your question has been asked many times in the past with the same answer. If you want more info use the SEARCH function on this site or www.bobistheoilguy.com tons of reading on such.

lucas

Thanks! for pointing me to the article, lucas always seemed to be a good idea untill I read that. I guess I will stay with the amsoil. It never hurts to ask a question here, lots of knowledge on this website.

Amsoil, Schaeffer, Redline...
If you want a good synthetic oil... those are the top 3 in my opinion...

I prefer Schaeffer personally... Great Quality and Great Price.... But then if you trade in every 2 years... use the cheapest off the shelf you can find... I rack up 300K+ before getting a new rig and I can't afford to have any down time on my money maker >>> ESPECIALLY FOR LUBE RELATED ISSUES... Because I happen to be in that business and it would look VERY bad to my clientel.
